  1. It's 500 grams of Mustard leaves(sarson).
  2. It's 250 grams of Spinach(palak).
  3. Prepare 250 grams of bathua leaves (optional).

  6. You need 4-5 of garlic cloves (lehsan).

  11. You need 1/2 teaspoon of asafoetida(hing).
  12. You need 2 tablespoon of ghee or oil.

  1. Clean all the greens thoroughly and chop the leaves coarsely. Bathua saag is optional, if it is not available you can use spinach instead.
  2. In a pan or kadhai, boil 2 cups of water and add all the greens. You can add or reduce quantity of water as you like..
  3. Add salt and haldi andlet the saag cook on medium heat. If you like it coarse, mash it with masher or you can also use blender to make a smooth paste..
  4. Add corn meal or makki ki atta, green chillies and remaining salt in the saag and let it cook on low flame..
  5. In a separate pan, heat ghee and add crushed garlic, grated ginger and red chilli flakes and methi. Pour this mix over saag and cook for 3-4 minutes. Saag is ready..
